Congratulations to Liam Cullen who last weekend broke three Southland records, with two of them in the same race, at the Wharenui Winter Olympics. Competing in the 100m Breaststroke Liam broke the 50m 10/11 year record with his split time of 38.38 (old record held by Michael Keen since 1994, 40.72) and then continued on to break the 100m record for the 10/11 year boys in a time of 1.26.65 (breaking old record held by Cameron Murphy since 1998, 1.29.45).
Liam followed up this swim in the evening in the final by lowering the 100m time again to 1.27.36. He was also very close to breaking the 200m Breaststroke record just missing the required time of 3.07.72 with his time being 3.08.21.
