Play Area Developments

Excavations for the final stage of the Verdon Block recreation area commenced today. We look forward to making use of the extra hoops, four square courts and all weather surfaces next year.

Fabric Bags

Mrs Hammond's fabric class proudly display the results of their bag project. The individual design and build nature of the project has produced some innovative concepts. An example of this originality is the Flag-Bag made by Quinton Keen. It is a bag that folds into a marker flag.

2009 Graduation

On Wednesday evening the leavers of 2009 gathered with staff and parents to celebrate mass and present graduation certificates. This was followed by a graduation dinner held at the Working Men's club.

BOT fund technology upgrade

Mr Sims has completed the instillation of fixed computer benches in room 41 which is the research room that forms part of the library. As part of this development, the Board of Trustees have approved finance to upgrade the last of the old computers which were housed in this area.
There are a number of other replacements planned for the new year:
  • Old room 5 computers will have thin client machines installed.
  • Room 6 computers with be replaced with state of the art machines.
  • Home economics will have new ovens.
  • Fabrics will have new sewing machines.

Cricket nets near completion

The Marist pavilion has had the back wall and sills completed, together with a coat of paint.
The cricket nets have had the frame completed and are awaiting a working bee to fix the netting.

A tired but happy group of Year 10 campers returned on Friday with photographs, stories and sand fly bites. Students opted into a range of activities and challenges. The sense of achievement was obvious on their faces and many were surprised at how much they managed to accomplish during the week. Caving, Orienteering, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Compass Courses, Bush Navigation, Tramping, Camp Craft, Rock Climbing, Tube Rafting, DOC predictor control Swimming, Fishing, Blind Trail and Jet Boating were among the opportunities offered. Thank you to the many people who donated time and services to make this such a great camp.
