The Southland Regional final of the University of Otago Sheilah Winn Festival of Shakespeare in Schools was held at Verdon College on Thursday 3 April.Verdon Colllege was the host of the event for 2008 which was well supported by secondary schools from all over the Southland region.
The Verdon team was the winner with their performance which was a 15 minute exert from Midsummer Night's Dream. This version had a Punk Rock theme to the music and costume. Ben Cochrane also won the best cameo performance award. A big thank you to all who helped with the preparation for the evening and to Mrs Horrell who directed the play and motivated the team!
The Verdon team will compete in the national Shakespeare Festival which will held in Wellington during Queens Birthday weekend. We wish them well.
